Exciting news for 2 WEADA members this week with the announcement of the shortlist for Britain’s Best Antiques Shops as part of National Antiques Week awards organised jointly by Homes and Antiques and Antiques News and Fairs
Michael and Jo Saffell of Bath are on the shortlist for “Specialist Antiques Shop” and a very deserving position it is with their wonderful display of English tins for the collector and dealer. Mike and Jo have been members of WEADA since the beginning and we are delighted to offer them our congratulations for a job well done in getting so many votes.
Congratulations also to the other deserving WEADA member, on the shortlist in the “Antique Shop” category, Blighty Antiques located in the Suffolks area of Cheltenham, dubbed the “Notting Hill area of Cheltenham”. Their absolutely charming bijou shop is home to a mix of country house and colonial pieces with some fabulously eccentric decorative accessories.
We wish Michael and Jo Saffell and Blighty Antiques the very best of luck for the final announcement on Thursday 8 March at the Bath Decorative Antiques Fair when Kirstie Allsopp of Channel 4 Television will announce the lucky winners.
Blighty Antiques will be exhibiting at The Bath Decorative Antiques Fair along with WEADA chairman Patrick Macintosh of Macintosh Antiques of Sherborne, Michael Chugg of Tetbury and Anthony Cole of Warminster. Complimentary tickets available from the web site.
